5 reasons to support Doctors Without Borders
- You help us save lives. For more than 50 years, our medical teams have been reaching those caught in crisis with rapid-response care. You make it possible for us to provide medical treatment to more than 16 million people.
- Our patients need us—and you—more than ever. Natural disasters, armed conflict, malnutrition, and disease outbreaks are on the rise and communities with fragile health systems are hit the hardest. Your support and our expertise ensure we can reach them with emergency medical care.
- You can trust your investment. Dollar for dollar, the impact you make by supporting Doctors Without Borders is unparalleled. We are committed to directing every dollar we can to our lifesaving programs.
- We speak out. If our medical teams observe needless suffering—children dying of malnutrition, refugees being denied care, or people who can’t access lifesaving vaccines—we will not stay silent.
- Your support keeps us fiercely independent. Organizations that take money from governments or institutions face red tape and limits on whom they can help. Your gift safeguards our independence and allows us to go wherever we are needed to save lives.
How we support people and communities in crisis
For over 50 years, our teams have been reaching those caught in crisis, going where others can’t or won’t. In over 70 countries, with 69,000 doctors, nurses, and other professionals, MSF provides critical and essential medical care to those in need.
When two powerful earthquakes hit southern Türkiye and northwestern Syria in February 2023, our teams swung into action within hours in Syria. Our work ranged from critical medical care to providing essential items like blankets and hygiene and cooking kits.
Within six months, we provided over 198,400 consultations through mobile clinics and health facilities, distributed over 110,800 relief items, and provided mental health consultations to more than 8,000 people.

Our response in Syria continues, evolving and pivoting as the year continued and headlines about the earthquakes faded from the news, integrating our emergency response into our regular activities. Our teams continue to provide comprehensive and independent medical care. Our work doesn’t end when interest fades–we continue to help communities recover in the aftermath of disasters.
